concluded in October 2009 and determined that the change of RED for 6451 McKinley exceeds
20% and should be changed. Staff provided a calculation chart for the other properties that are
under the same ownership.

Motion to recommend to the City Council changing the RED for 14000 Sunfish Lake Blvd to
16.062,6451 McKinley Street to 10.254 and 6250 Sunfish Lake Blvd to 20.927, effective May
2009 and credit these properties for the 2nd Quarter and 3rd Quarter 2009 billing difference.

Action:

Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee.

Case #3:

No Parking Restrictions on Public/Private Streets

Background:

At the October 20,2009 Public Works Committee meeting there was a concern raised by the Fire
Chief relating to the lack of No Parking signs on both public and private streets within the
Village of Sunfish Lake subdivision. Concern was expressed relative to the scope of other such
parking restriction omissions. A listing of subdivisions having "narrow" width streets (streets
having curb and gutter which are less than the standard 32 foot width) is attached to this case.
This table identifies subdivisions which have been platted mostly within the past nine years,
beginning with Mallard Ponds in 2000. Staff will be conducting site visits to determine the status
relating to the need for and noticing of the needed restrictions with the goal of identifying the
cost of bringing the current street system into compliances with necessary parking restrictions.

The consensus was to send an initial letter to the associations asking them to self police the
parking restrictions. A map should be enclosed with each letter identifying the streets to be
restricted. lfthe subsequent self enforcement is ineffective, "No Parking by order of the Fire
Chief' signs would be installed and the cost charged to the association.

Action:

Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee.

COMMITTEE INPUT

There was none

Reviewed by:
City Administrator:
Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer
City Engineer
Assistant City Engineer
Civil Engineer II

CC: 12/08/09
