Another item Parks Supervisor Riverblood wanted to brief the Commission on are the two placements through the AmeriCorps Program and they are: Matt Sandquist and his primary activity will be building upon our existing capital asset information relating to the park and trail system. Specifically, he, (under wise mentoring in part by Leonard Linton and Sandy Carlson) will be identifying these fixed assets and assigning maintenance cost formulas so that we may better project the long-term funding needs for our park and trail infrastructure. This document when (comprehensively) complete, should be a resource for many of us, and include reference images. The other is: Joni Strandquest's is presently studying occupational therapy. One of her first tasks is performing a comprehensive survey of how the various communities' in the metro area interact and operate with their respective youth athletic associations. After data collection, she will assist staff in examining ways that may allow us to continue to collaborate in providing high-quality youth recreation for our residents - perhaps with greater cost efficiencies on the city's part. Parks Supervisor Riverblood noted that this program does not cost the City any money and is paid through Federal funds. Vice Chair Shryock commended Park Supervisor Riverblood for always being creative with our resources. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Backous, seconded by Commissioner Erickson to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
