Environmental Coordinator informed the Board that the water conservation tool box has been
tentatively scheduled for the November 24 Council work session. He stated that he planned to
briefly introduce the topic and than would like the Board to present and preview the tool box for
City Council.

Case #2:

Emerald Ash Borer Information

Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report and then went through a power
point presentation on Emerald Ash Borer that was made available by Ohio State University.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he was hoping that the Board would consider
including on their 2010 work plan the drafting of an EAB preparedness Plan, as that is an
eligibility requirement of the competitive grant opportunity offered by the MN Department of
Agriculture.

Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Hassett supporting Staffs
intent to apply for grant monies to plan and prepare for EAR

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Max, Board Members Riley-Daniels, Freeburg,
Stodola, Enstrom, Hassett and Bentz. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

Case #3:

2010 Work Plan

Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report.

Board Member Hassett stated he would like to see something about seeking grant monies to
encourage green development within the Town Center added to the work plan.

Chairperson Max stated that he thinks the work plan could consist of the following:
· A.J:bor Day
· Environmental Expo
· Revisiting the water conservation tool box as necessary to update it
. Monitor progress ofWMO's 3rd generation plan completion

Board Member Enstrom stated that he would like the Board to research the possibility of a
compost site. He also stated that he thought the Board should focus some effort on invasive
species information and outreach.

Chairperson Max stated he thought that was a good idea and that it could be done very similarly
to the water conservation tool box.

Chairperson Max suggested that the Board also seek out funding (sponsors) for the
Environmental Expo.

Board Member Hassett suggested that the City could even consider selling ad space on the
web site for coupons for local businesses (similar to how the newsletter advertisements are being
sought).

Environmental Policy Board!
