Mr. Kriens stated he has his shop there, he loads up in the morning and unloads at night, and
record keeping is done in the home.

Associate Planner Gladhill stated the outside storage is a concern, traffic of two trips a day is not
a concern; as far as the times listed they are directly from the application submitted by the
applicant. The applicant made a quick note about needing more accessory space, as this
commission is aware of the City has amended and increased the allowable square footage of
accessory structures allowed, maybe we can work with additional accessory structure space. The
wetland issues have not been resolved yet. It is still subject to enforcement procedures by the
Anoka Area Conservation District.

Commissioner Brauer summed up that there are no employees; three vehicles used for the
business, and no work done onsite. He asked how much storage is planned for the site.

Mr. Kriens stated he has cleaned up the site and what is there now is the maximum he would
have on site. He has three trailers onsite.

Chairperson Van Scoy asked what the intent was for the screened area.

Mr. Kriens explained his screening plan.

Assistant City Engineer Jankowski showed and explained the wetland violation to the
Commission. He read an email from the Anoka Conservation District which stated they do not
know the extent of the violation at this time and it has not been resolved.

Associate Planner Gladhill stated staff is recommending there be some clean up of the site for
approval to be given. If we look at the amount of outside storage maybe this is something that
would fit with the current ordinance; as it looks today, Staff would not recommend approval.

Planning Manager Miller stated it is the volume of the material and less so the screening and
having the material consolidated in one area.

Motion by Chairperson Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Dunaway, to close the public
hearing.

Motion Carried.
