City Engineer for ~e Ci~ of Ramsey 15153 No,hen Boulev~d Rmsey, ~ 55303 RE: Additional Speed Limit Signs in the Northfork Development Dear Mr. Jankowski: We writing to request that the City. of Ramsey consider our neighborhood's need for additional speed limit signs. Its residents believe our safety depends on this. For your information, our development is comprised of approximately 7 miles of public, roads and our neighborhood consists of 240 homes. We feet that, given the vast area of land in which we cover and the densi~ of our population, the three northbound, two eastbound and one southbound existing "30 MPH Speed Limit" signs are no longer sufficient to control the tra~c which has increased dramatically over the years. Attached you will Smd a copy of the map laying out our development and, as you can see, there are a few- areas which need signs to remind drivers of the speed limit. Specifically, St. Andrew's Lane is lacking in such a sign. But, three areas in which the residents currently have the most conce.m, s are: 1. 164th Lane westbound wherein the vehicles have been seen traveling up ,to 50 mph after gaining speed from descending down the hill; '- 2. 162na Lane westbound between the residences 8801 and 16251 where driving at top speed has become a chronic problem; and 3. 162n~ Lane eastbound where drivers take advantage of descending the hill to reach dangerous speeds by the time they approach the pedestrian crossing for the Ramsey City. Trail. It is our hope that, in conjunction with our reporting these speeding violations to. the Ramsey Police Department, additional speed limit signs will be successful in keeping our neighborhood safe.
