<br />Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #lO-Ol.x.:X.X <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR HIGH SPEED BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County has embarked on a project to determine the interest in and <br />needs for high speed broadband connectivity in Anoka County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are increasing educational, economic, and community benefits to <br />increased high-speed connectivity, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City of Ramsey supports the effort of Anoka County to develop a broadband <br />vision and solicit public/private partnerships through a Request for Proposal process. <br /> <br />2) That the City of Ramsey supports submission of a federal grant to secure funding to <br />implement the broadband vision. <br /> <br />3) That the City of Ramsey recognizes that broadband through optical fiber will be a long- <br />term bel'1etit to all citizens, <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following vot'cd in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 12th day of Jan\.lary, 2010, <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
