<br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE POLICY <br />FOR APPOINTING BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like its practices and written policies for <br />reappointing board and .commission members to be consistent. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to amend the Policy for Appointing Board and Commission <br />Members as follows: <br /> <br />1. The following language will be added to the Policy for Appointing Board and <br />Commission Members, Section 1. <br /> <br />When 'a vacancy on a board or commission occurs, the staff liaison to the <br />commission will notify the Human Resources Manager or Assistant City <br />Administrator who will prepare a detailed notice of position availability for <br />publication twice in the City newsletter and once in the City's official newspaper, <br />as required by the Charter. Incumbents will be notified by December 1 of each <br />year that their term is expiring March 31 of the following year. <br /> <br />2. The following language will be added to the Policy for Appointing Board and <br />Commission Members, Section 3.C.3. <br /> <br />The chair of each board or commission for which appointments are being <br />considered will be advised of the interview date and time and invited to submit <br />written comments to the City Council and make a recommendation regarding <br />reappointment. The form for written comments will be provided by the city. The <br />final decision regarding appointments will rest with the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: amend <br />the Policy for Appointing Board and Commission Members as outlined above. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />
