Motion by Mary Jo Olson to approve the 4/17/03 meeting <br />minutes, Dick Kruger seconded, Suzanne Dvorak abstained, motion passed. <br /> <br />Approval of agenda. Motion by Suzanne Dvorak to approve the meeting agenda, Vice <br />Chair Anderson seconded, motion passed. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Review information on tax status of different types of residential development. <br />Community Development Intern Geisler reviewed the case on differences in tax <br />revenues generated by different types of residential development. There was <br />discussion of the tax status of church-owned property. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Development options - city-owned property west of Sunfish Lake. Chair Kiefer <br />asked whether a PUD was possible on the site. Community Development Intern <br />Geisler responded that the DNR would likely require the site to be developed as a <br />PUD. There was discussion of the nearby Village at Sunfish Lake development <br />proposal, as well as the ongoing study of park and recreation needs surrounding <br />Sunfish Lake. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Review sample RFP. Community Development Intern Geisler distributed two RFPs, <br />one from the Rivers Pointe project in Anoka and one from the City of Blaine. City <br />Administrator Norman discussed the Request for Proposals process. Chair Kiefer <br />asked if the City would need to advertise the RFP, or could it be sent to selected <br />developers. City Administrator Norman stated that the RFP process is similar to <br />seeking professional services, and does not fall under state notice requirements. <br /> <br />Suzanne Dvorak asked whether the committee still wanted to focus on senior housing <br />for the site. Chair Kiefer reiterated his concern that the committee's first project be a <br />successful demonstration project. There was discussion of the possibility of a <br /> <br /> <br />
