~"'~veral municipalities in the Northwest region were <br />i~lll%awarded funding from the Minnes~ota <br />,~,,-- <br /> VDepartment of Trade and Economic <br /> Development (DTED) during it 2003 funding round: <br /> <br />· Red Lake County received $580,000 to rehabilitate <br /> 28 owner-occupied homes in four townships. <br /> <br />The City of Red Lake Falls received $200,000 to acquire <br />and demolish three flood-impacted homes, and cover <br />relocation expenses associated with the project. <br /> <br />The City of Roseau received $1,400,000 to fund <br />acquisition, clearance, relocation and business <br />assistance activities associated with the city~ flood <br />recovery. <br /> <br />Roseau County received $368,678 to fund acquisition, <br />clearance and relocation activities associated with flood <br />recovery and mitigation. <br /> <br />Region One Housing Development Alliance received <br />$670,000 in funding from the Minnesota Housing Finance <br />Agency during the Spring 2003 funding round. The funding <br /> awarded for three initiatives: <br /> · $340,000 for new single-family home construction <br /> <br />$130,000 for buyout of flood-impacted homes in <br />Roseau County <br /> <br />$200,000 for flood-related repair work <br /> <br />The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is exploring the <br />possibility of setting up a revolvin9 construction loan pool.
