TDhe City of Albany received $555,000 in funding <br />rom the Department of Trade and EconoYnic <br />evelopment (DTED) to rehabilitate 25 single-family <br />owner-occupied homes. <br /> <br />The City of Annandale received $890,000 in funding <br />from DTED to rehabilitate 20 owner-occupied units, 10 renter- <br />occupied units, and 15 commercial units. <br /> <br />Bi. County CAP was awarded $10,000 from the Open Your <br />Heart Foundation and $81,266 from the Minnesota Housing <br />Finance Agency (MHFA) for the rehabilitation of transitional <br />housing units in Cass Lake and Walker. <br /> <br />The Central Minnesota Housing Partnership (CMHP) <br />was awarded $200,000 in gap financing from MHFA for the <br />5-City Life Cycle Housing Project in St. Cloud, Sartell, Sauk <br />Rapids, St. Joseph and Waite Park. Additional funding was also <br />awarded from the Central Minnesota Community Foundation <br />for $3,000 and Bremer Bank for $37,000 for this effort. CMHP <br />received $50,000 from the Initiative Foundation to provide <br />housin9 plannin9 and technical assistance to communities in <br />the region. It also received $150,000 in funding from the <br />Greater Minnesota Housing Fund (GMHF) for 24 affordable <br />rental units in Zimmerman. CMHP completed the development <br />of 11 homes in Monticello and is coordinating the gap <br />financing for nine homes in Sauk Rapids. Three affordable <br />single-family homes are for-sale in Long Prairie.. <br /> <br />The Community Housing Development Corporation was <br />awarded $200,000 towards the Veterans' & Community <br />Housin9 Initiative in St. Cloud. The project will provide 60 units <br />of permanent supportive housing. <br /> <br />The City of Little Falls and Little Falls HRA received <br />$50,000 in Community Revitalization Funds for the removal of <br />four blighted single-family homes and the rehabilitation or <br />construction of four replacements homes. <br /> <br />The Mille Lacs Reservation Housing Authority received <br />$341,000 to provide subsidized rehabilitation loans to members <br />of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwa living on the reservation and <br />within a thirty mile radius of the reservation. <br /> <br />At Ottertail Wadena Community Action Council, Larry <br />Barber received his Building Official Limited license and Sandy <br />Metzdorff is now certified as an Accessibility Specialist. They <br />will be contracting with local rural communities to help them <br />adopt and regulate Minnesota building codes and deal with <br />accessibility issues in public buildings. Cap has started its spring/summer single-family detached"""' <br />construction with four homes in Sauk'Centre, four homes in <br />Albany, and one home in Paynesville. Tri-Cap~ current MURL <br />proJect will produce five affordable homes in the communities <br />of Melrose and Sauk Centre. These homes will be available in <br />the early fall. Tri-Cap has alsojoined the Central Minnesota <br />Builders Association, the Builders Association of <br />Minnesota, and the National Association of <br />Homebuilders. <br /> <br />Volunteers of America received $350,000 from MHFA and <br />GMHF for Our Home permanent supportive housing for <br />homeless persons with disabilities. <br /> <br />The St. Cloud H,qA received $580,000 from MHFA and <br />$500,000 from GMHF for construction and gap financing of <br />Meadows Edge Townhomes. Infrastructure construction on <br />this 72 unit for-sale townhome development will begin in <br />Summer 2003, with construction of the units starting in Spring <br />2004. The HRA also received $360,000 in construction <br />financing and $240,000 in gap financing from GMHF for a <br />redevelopment proJect at the Anderson Trucking site ir <br />downtown St. Cloud.
