~~

CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Topic Report: Dysprosium Street Options
By: Steve Jankowski, Assistant City Engineer

Background:

The segment of Dysprosium Street between Bunker Lake Blvd and Nowthen Blvd has been in poor condition for a
number of years. Uncertainty regarding its status as a future route for 1H 47 has been the primary reason for
postponing costly work on this segment. Based upon ~~yio1.!S Council direction a feasibility study was prepared for
the reconstruction of the street and was presented to th~~ ~rk session on January 19, 2010. At that meeting staff
was requested to prepare some additional options for addressing the repair of the street that would reduce overall
costs and allow this corridor to be reserved for a future 1H 47 corridor.

Funding: The project is anticipated to be funded through MSA funds and special assessments.

Action Statement: Review the proposed alternatives developed by staff and provide final direction on a project
scope. In order to complete this improvement during the 2010 construction season a public hearing should take
place in March, as it must undergo a sixty day post hearing period; field and design work; and MuDot plan review
and approval. Staff has placed a resolution on this evening's regular council agenda setting the date of the Public
Hearing for March 9, 2010. The council should direct modification to the draft feasibility study, if necessary.

Attachments:

Summary of Dysprosium Street Options

Reviewed by: P' / I. n
City Administrator ~
Public Works Dir tor
City Engineer

Copies to:
City Attorney

CCWS: 02-09-10
