The Committee discussed the proposed plan and the priority of the proposed street maintenance. There was consensus to table the Now and Then Estates project and not bring this back to Public Works until Council has discussed the assessment policy. The Committee recommended the removal of Magnesium Street which was proposed for a bituminous overlay due to the potential revisions associated with the CSAH 116 improvement project planned for 2011, and requested that the no-whistle zone improvements for the railroad tracks. on the west end of Alpine Drive be included with that proposed overlay project. Motion to direct staff to prepare a feasibility study for the 2010 Street Maintenance Program consistent with the recommendation of the City Council. Action: Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. Case #5 Request Anoka County to have a Speed Study Performed on CR 57 Between Highway 10 and Bunker Lake Boulevard Background: Businesses located along Sunfish Lake Blvd between Highway 10 and Bunker Lake Blvd have expressed concern over the traffic speed through this section of roadway. Frank Yamapour from Sunfish Express was also in attendance and presented information related to a past frontage road design. The Committee tabled this discussion for future consideration at a work session. Motion to recommend staff meet with the County to discuss the whistle zone, medians, and speed limit for the segment of Sunfish Lake Blvd between TH 10 and Bunker Lake Blvd. Action: Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee.
