Dayton City Staff has the following observations: Cloquet Island • Dayton encourages the use of Cloquet Island as parkland and would like to participate in any future planning /use of the island. Transportation Element • Ramsey's Transportation Plan states Anoka County has proposed locating a new Mississippi River bridge at the location that was agreed upon by Ramsey and Dayton. The plan also states Mn /DOT has not yet agreed with.either the new river crossing or the highway jurisdictional changes referenced in the Anoka County Plan. The draft Hennepin County Transportation Systems Plan available December 2008 states a new Mississippi River Crossing is a low priority based on regional agencies input such as MnDOT and concerns expressed by the City of Dayton. The City of Dayton in its 2008 Comprehensive Update does not acknowledge a Mississippi River crossing between now and 2030. In summary the City of Dayton is not supportive of a new Mississippi River Crossing between now and 2030. Water Element • Figure 9.2 Water Supply and Treatment Improvements reference is made to a potential alternative surface water intake to serve Ramsey. No discussion is in the Walter Element part of the Comprehensive Plan. Dayton's Water Supply and Distribution Plan provides no alternative for surface water intake from the Mississippi. River. The City of Dayton is interested in reviewing the results of a surface water supply from the Mississippi River serving the City of Ramsey.
