He indicated this was brought to the <br />Committee for informational purposes. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone asked. if soil amending had been looked at on site. <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer responded he did not know that answer, but he would look into that <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig asked if this was an opportunity to get to the right people to have a discussion <br />about a rail station. He stated there would need to be assurance that there would not be any <br />waterflow in this area also. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Consider Lighting Requirement at Street Crosswalks <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig believed prioritizing crosswalks was a good idea. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Elvig, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend staff <br />prepare individual cost proposals for crosswalks for further review and consideration from the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Councilmembers McGlone and Dehen. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Review Proposed 2010 Street Maintenance Plan <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed the proposed plan and the priority of the proposed street maintenance. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig proposed hanging onto the funding, leave the funds where they were and if the <br />City wanted to reallocate the funds, to look at it at a future date. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig requested the Now and Then Estates issue be brought back to the Committee <br />at a future date and table Now and Then Estates from the project for this year. <br /> <br />There was a consensus to table the Now and Then Estates project and not bring this back to <br />Pubic Works until Council has discussed the assessment policy. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee / January 19,2010 <br />Page 3 of4 <br />
