<br />Case #5: <br /> <br />2009 BUSINESS EXPO <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan reviewed that in 2007-2008, the EDA was a~ked <br />to increase its activity in the Retail/Service sector of the community, and as a result, the EDA <br />became more involved with the Town Center. In 2009, the EDA hosted a Business Expo at <br />PACT Charter School. This event was co-marketed with the Environmental Expo/Tree Sale. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan reported that he contacted both the Fountains of <br />Ramsey and PACT Charter School as possible venues for the 2010 event. The Fountains of <br />Ramsey is unavailable, but PACT Charter School has availability. Economic Development <br />Coordinator Sullivan also stated that Staff discussed' dates with the Environmental Coordinator <br />and it was determined that the preferred date to hold the event is May 1. <br /> <br />Motion by Member Skaff, seconded by Member Look, to select May 1,2010 as the date for the <br />2010 Business Ex.po, to utilize PACT Charter School and to authorize$3,500 to help fund the <br />event. <br /> <br />Motioncarried. Voting Yes: Members Riley, LeTourneau, Skaff, Williams, and Look. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Members Steffen and Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />STAFF UPDATE <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan presented the Staff Update. He noted that <br />Acapulco, US Bank, and JBT& QDP Alliance should be planning grand openings within the <br />next six months. <br /> <br />The 20 1 0 Business Appreciation Day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 17. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan explained that the submittal package for ~he <br />Veteran's Administration'project was presented on January' 4,2010; now we wait for a response. <br /> <br />Some discussion. took place regarding a few of the available lease spaces, and Economic <br />Development Coordinator Sullivan finished the discussion by giving an overview of some of the <br />other miscellaneous projects. <br /> <br />MEMBER INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Member Look, seconded by Member LeTourneau, to adjourn the 'meeting. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority / January 14, 2010 <br />Page 4 of5 <br />
