Chairperson Riley questioned if it was <br />time to identify and prioritize a new list of blighted projects; noting that these properties could be <br />acquired or redeveloped as opportunities become available. Economic Development Consultant <br />Mulrooney stated that this is a good time to begin identifying projects since many appraisals are <br />coming in much lower than they have in the past. <br /> <br />Member Look suggested that the EDA investigate sewer expansion costs since bids are coming <br />in at lower prices these days, and then those costs could be assessed to new, incoming properties. <br /> <br />Member Williams asked if. the EDA should be working with the Steeri1).g Committee on <br />marketing for Town Center. Chairperson Riley stated that is direction that the EDA needs to get <br />. from the Steering Committee. <br /> <br />Economic Development Consultant Mulrooney stated that one of the items on the 2010 Work <br />Plan (possible seminar on "How to start a business") is one that should be pursued given the <br />state of the economy and high unemployment rates. <br /> <br />Motion by Member"Look, seconded by Member LeTourneau, to adopt the 2010 Work Plan as <br />amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Members Steffen and Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE SUBLETTING OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE MUNICIPAL <br />CENTER TO THE ANOKA COUNTY LICENSE BUREAU <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan provided background information regarding the <br />subletting of office space in the Municipal Center to the Anoka County License Bureau. <br /> <br />In 2005, the EDA entered into a Lease Agreement to sublease 2660 square feet on the first floor <br />of the Municipal Center building. The Lease Agreement. between the City of Ramsey and the <br />EDA requires that the Landlord, Insurer, and Trustee to issue written consent to any assignment <br />or subleasing of the building. Staff is asking the EDA to consent to the sublease and authorize <br />the Chair and Vice Chair to execute a consent document approved by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion by MemberSkaff, seconded by Member Williams, to authorize the Chair and Vice Chair <br />to execute written consent for the subleasing of 2,660 square feet of the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center located at 7550 Sunwood Drive NW to the County of An6ka (Anoka County License <br />Bureau) subject to the terms and conditions of the Letter of Intent. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
