Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he certainly thought that they were a good fit <br />for the event and would be in communication with Parks Supervisor Riverblood who oversees <br />that program about interest in a booth again this year. <br />Acting Chairperson Riley- Daniels inquired about a cornerstone exhibitor /speaker and about door <br />prizes. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that there really isn't a cornerstone exhibitor. He <br />did contact Ron Schara Enterprises to inquire about the availability of Mr. Ron Schara for the <br />event. Mr. Schara is already booked for that weekend but Environmental Coordinator Anderson <br />was told that this was something that Mr. Schara would likely have an interest in should we <br />invite him to a future event. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson informed the Board that there may be a chance at getting a <br />Mr. Bill Sherck, who does guest appearances on Minnesota Bound, co -hosts the television show <br />Due North Outdoors and often co -hosts Outdoors Live, which is a weekly radio show. <br />The Board thought that it would be good to see about his availability and interest in speaking at <br />the expo. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he has confirmed that S & B Geothermal would <br />be willing to give a talk on geothermal energy basics and would also have a booth at the event. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that as far as door prizes go, he has typically used <br />trees as prizes to help attract people to the presentations. <br />Acting Chairperson Riley- Daniels inquired about contacting Coborns to ask about donating some <br />door prizes. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he thought that would be good and asked if <br />Acting Chairperson Riley - Daniels would be willing to contact Coborns. <br />Acting Chairperson Riley- Daniels confirmed that she would. <br />Further discussion ensued about other possible exhibitors such as 4 -H, FFA, Ducks Unlimited, <br />Pheasants Forever, National Parks Service and scout troops. <br />Case #3: Invasive Species Education <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Board Member Stodola stated that for the most part, he was not familiar with any of the invasive <br />species included in the staff report. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson previewed two websites for the Board, the Anoka <br />Conservation District site and the MN DNR site; both have pages about invasive species. <br />Environmental Policy Board / February 1, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
