Board Member Bentz thought that it may be best to link directly to these sites since they already
have this information.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson that previewed for the Board the info that is already
available through the city's website, which is set up similar to Board Member Bentz's preference
with just links to outside sites containing info about buckthorn, garlic mustard and spotted
knapweed.
Board Member Bentz stated that he thought it would be important to have photos next to each
species name on the main page, similar to how the DNR's site is set up.
Consensus of the Board was to begin working on the invasive species education and outreach.
The web page should have some basic background info about what invasive species are and why
they are a concern and then include a list of species and photos that a person could click on for
more information.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he would try and put a couple options together
to preview at the March meeting.
BOARD /STAFF INPUT
None.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Bentz to adjourn the
meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Anderson
Environmental Coordinator
Environmental Policy Board / February 1, 2010
Page 4 of 4
