<br />,,/ ./;) <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />(. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />TO: Ramsey City Council <br /> <br /> <br />FROM: Council Budget Committee <br /> <br />RE: 1981 City Budget <br /> <br />The Budget Connnittee has run into a problem which we :reel we should dis- <br />cuss with the total Council. <br /> <br />1) Levy Limitation: The City's tax levy that is establish this year will <br />set the base tax levy when we go under the tax levy limitation law which <br />will affect the City of Ramsey when they prepare the 1982 City Budget. Con- <br />sequently, the action taken by this Council in setting tax levy base is <br />going to play a big role in Ramsey's development in the future. <br /> <br />2) Exceeding 1980 Budget Planning: . The City for example this year has ex- <br />ceeded its 1979 planning for the 1980 budget in the following areas: <br /> <br />a) Design and working drawing of lower portion of City <br />Hall for $1,150 and mechanical plans of $2,250 for a total <br />of $3,400. <br /> <br />f) Transfer to State Aid Construction $18,126 <br /> <br />-g) Recreation ~uipment $250 <br />h) Hockey Rink $10,700 <br />i) Traprock Horse Arena $2,600 <br />j) Cable T.V. $4,000 <br /> <br />Inasmuch as we are seeing a tremendous amount of things happening here in <br />Ramsey and the City is getting involved in many things, we are going to be <br />involved in more ancillary costs if we want to see the projects through. <br />As an example, we have listed a number of areas where we can see that City <br />funding will be needed: <br /> <br />
