Staff feels that this issue could potentially be expanded to also include the installation of left turns lanes
in select locations along this corridor as well. Two such locations, with higher traffic volumes, would be
at Sunwood Drive and 150th Lane / Ramsey Elementary entrance.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that it be directed to work with Anoka County on the installation of right turn lanes at
all the locations shown in the table above, except that left turn lanes should be considered at Sunwood
Drive and 150th Lane / Ramsey Elementary entrance. Once discussions have taken place and an
agreement has been reached on what the County will allow and under what conditions, cost estimates
can be prepared and brought back to the Committee for review.
Action:
Direct staff to contact Anoka County and discuss alternatives for turn lane installation along CSAH 5
from Alpine Drive to Lord of Life Church.
Reviewed By:
Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer
City Engineer
Public Works Street Supervisor
Chief of Police
PW: 03/16/10
