PC CASE # q-01 <br />CONSIDER ENDING PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br />FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SECRETARY <br />Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />Background <br />On October 12, 2009, Ms. Lana Howell was reassigned to the Fire Department Secretary <br />position. At this time, Ms. Howell has successfully completed her six -month <br />probationary period and the Fire Chief recommends retaining her as the full -time regular <br />Fire Department Secretary. <br />Funding Source <br />This is an existing position which is included in the 2010 General Fund Budget. No <br />additional funding is required to remove Ms. Howell from probation. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Based on satisfactory completion of the sixth -month probationary period, staff <br />recommends that Lana Howell be retained as the full -time regular Fire Department <br />Secretary. <br />Committee Action: <br />Make a motion recommending that the City Council adopt a resolution ending the <br />probationary period for Lana Howell and granting her status as the full -time regular Fire <br />Department Secretary. <br />Reviewed y: <br />City Administrator <br />PC: 03 -23 -10 <br />Attachment: <br />Resolution <br />
