AUTHORIZE DATE AND LOCATION OF 2010 BUSINESS APPRECIATION DAY By: Jessica L. Hendricks, Management Intern Background: Staff is preparing for the planning of the Business Appreciation Day event. In the past, the event has been held at The Links at Northfork, and has been very successful with 160 plus people in attendance. Last year's event went smoothly, and staff would recommend using the Links at Northfork and Wells Catering again this year. Staff has contacted Northfork and tentatively reserved Tuesday, August 17, 2010 for the event. In 2009, the EDA spent $4000 to fund the event. Staff is seeking authorization to spend up to $4000 in EDA funds for the event. There is no change in the per person package price from last year, and staff is also seeking authorization to keep the registration fees the same as the 2009 fees. Those fees were as follows: Full Day Participation - $90.00 Dinner Only - $33.00 Hole Sponsor - $99.00 Funding Source: EDA Levy and Registration Fees Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends selecting The Links at Northfork and Wells Catering to be the chosen venue and caterer for the Business Appreciation event. Staff also recommends selecting August 17, 2010 as the date for the 2010 Business Appreciation Day and an authorization of $4000 in EDA funding. EDA Action: Motion to select The Links at Northfork as the location for the Business Appreciation event.
