<br />Mayor Ramsey recessed the City Council meeting at 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey reconvened the City Council meeting at 9: 13 p.m. Councilmember Wise was not <br />present when the meeting reconvened. <br /> <br />7.03: Consider Arts Board Application on Behalf of the Ramsey Foundation <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson reviewed the staff report. He stated this grant application requires <br />at least one paid employee, which the Foundation does not have. He explained that this is a <br />$15,000 request, of which $10,000 is grant money and $5,000 covered with in-kind donations <br />and/or time. He pointed out that $3,700 of the grant will go into the General Fund to offset Parks <br />Supervisor Mark Riverblood's time and other stafftime. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmetnber Elvig, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to authorize staff to <br />apply to the State Arts Board for a grant on behalf of the Ramsey Foundation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, McGlone, and Look. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Dehen, Jeffrey and Wise. <br /> <br />7.04: Consider Authorization of Funding for the Ramsey Seniors Christmas <br />Program <br /> <br />Management Intern Hendricks reviewed the staff report. She indicated the cost for the program <br />is $90 and funding for the Christmas celebration would come from the Council Contingency <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to authorize funding for the <br />Ramsey Seniors Christmas Program. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Look, and McGlone. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Dehen, Jeffrey, and Wise. <br /> <br />7.05: Consider Contract Extension for the Ramsey Star Express <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Olson reviewed the staff report. He stated Council discussed this item <br />earlier during its work session and provided direction to staff to consider additional advertising <br />for the bus service and to look at issuing an RFP for the period following September 30, 2010. <br />He added staff was also directed to continue pursuing Federal funds for capital costs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Wise returned to the meeting at 9: 17 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Look, to authorize staff to enter <br />into a third 6 month contract extension (Aprill, 2010 - September 30, 2010) with First Transit <br />for the operation of the Ramsey Star Express. <br /> <br />City Councilf March 9, 2010 <br />Page 12 of15 <br />
