Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO BEGIN THE <br />RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR AN ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT/MARKETING MANAGER AND AUTHORIZING A <br />REORGANIZAITON IN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the Deputy City Administrator conducted an analysis of the City's <br />economic development priorities and functions and determined that there is a need to hire <br />a dedicated economic development position; and <br />WHEREAS, an Economic Development/Marketing Manager will focus on <br />developing and maintaining the City's Business Retention Program and developing and <br />coordinating marketing and promotional activities designed to attract new development <br />city wide; and <br />WHEREAS, staff is recommending reassigning Information and Technology and <br />Facilities to the Human Resources Manager /Assistant Director of Administrative Services <br />to enable the Deputy City Administrator to focus the City's economic development and <br />HRA priorities. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to do the following: <br />1. Authorize staff to begin the recruitment process for an Economic <br />Development/Marketing Manager. <br />2. Reassign oversight responsibility for IT and Facilities to the Human Resources <br />Manager and reclassify that position to Human Resources Manager /Assistant <br />Director of Administrative Services. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />
