LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />June 15, 1988 <br />Page 2 <br />Correspondence was discussed relating to Loiter Rum River erosion <br />concerns due to the reported use of large watercraft motors. A letter <br />regarding same was sent to Chairman of the Anoka County Board of Com- <br />missioners Dan Erhart on 5 -19 -88 by Attorney Curtis A. Pearson, as <br />directed by the LRRWMO. A responding letter was received dated 5- 31 -88. <br />Mr. Pearson's 6 -6 -88 letter to Chairman Schrantz indicated that the <br />county would consider supporting an ordinance dealing with these erosion <br />concerns if the councils of the member cities support such action. <br />Mr. Pearson's 5 -19 -88 letter to Mr. Weaver was received stating <br />that the various WMO directives regarding correspondence and the initia- <br />tion of the Water Management Plan review process had been completed. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Acting Public Works Director for the Citv of Anoka Ray Schultz ad- <br />dressed the commission commenting on the Water Management Plan. Recom- <br />mended changes were as follows: <br />Page 9: Wetlands items #2 and #3. Mr. Schultz felt that there should <br />be some type.of definition page defining wetlands and their <br />types. In addition, the definition source and date should be <br />provided to allow for further research. <br />Page 14: Under Metropolitan Sanitary Sewer that last paragraph should <br />read: "The Metropolitan Waste Control Commission will construct <br />a lift station in Anoka at the existing waste water treatment <br />plant and will construct a forcemain across the Mississippi <br />River to an interceptor line in Champlin. Future construction <br />is anticipated by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission <br />to extend the existing interceptor on the west side of the Rum <br />River in Anoka to the east, crossing the Rum River in the <br />vicinity of the Anoka Fair Grounds." <br />Figure 2 Map: Mr. Schultz reported that there is no number given to <br />Ward Lake. <br />WM0 members concurred that the Water Management Plan should indicate <br />I <br />hat the maps within the plan are not scale drawings and are merely <br />presented for representation. <br />It was further agreed that all comments an the plan would be received <br />before being accepted and passed on to Barr Engineering. <br />Upon discussion of a possible 4 -city council workshop, members con- <br />curred that first the no- ?ta'.Ike ordinance be considered and an operation pro- <br />cedure for the WMO be established before scheduling a workshop. A late <br />summer meeting date was suggested. <br />Jim Schrantz, as City Engineer for the City of Andover, requested a <br />30 -day extension for the Andover review of the Water Management Plan. <br />
