i.. <br />LOWER RUM RIVER WATERSHED MANAGEMENT COMMISSION <br />August 19, 1987 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Jim Schrantz called the meeting to order at 8 :45 a.m. in <br />the Committee Room of Anoka City Hall. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Members present included Chairman Jim Schrantz, Pete Raatikka, and <br />John Weaver. Tom Matheson was absent. Others in attendance included <br />Engineering Consultant Dean Skallman and City of Anoka Finance Director <br />Frank Frederick. <br />Flil$a'u1l�liyY�.y <br />Motion was made by Mr. Weaver, seconded by Mr. Raatikka, that the <br />July 15, 1987, meeting minutes be approved as printed. All voted yes. <br />Motion carried. <br />TREASURER'S REPORT <br />The commission received the Treasurer's 1987 Budget Report, ending <br />July 31, 1987, showing a balance of $24,574.66. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Weaver, seconded by Mr. Raatikka, to approve <br />the Treasurer's Report as submitted. All voted yes. Motion carried. <br />PAYMENT OF BILLS <br />Mr. Frederick presented the commission with two bills from Barr <br />Engineering for the period May 31 through June 27, 1987s A bill for <br />planning in the amount of $112.40 and a bill for meetings for $172.20 <br />for a total of $284.60. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Raatikka, seconded by Mr. Weaver, to approve <br />the $284.60 payment to Barr Engineering. All voted yes. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF OFFICERS <br />None. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />The commission discussed permit #84 -6186. Applicant John Underwood, <br />3631 Rum River Dr., has requested and been granted a 30 -day extension with <br />regard to the retaining wall. Concern was expressed about erosion. <br />Mr. Weaver agreed to inspect the site. <br />Chairman Schrantz reported receiving information with regard to the <br />potential need for Watershed Management Organizations to carry liability <br />
