LRRWMO Meeting Minutes
January 18, 1989
Page 3
Mr. Christensen added that the Rum River is classified as a Wild and
Scenic River and probably can't be posted. A permit will be required to
do so.
Motion was made_y Weaver, seconded by Raatikka, directing legal
counsel Pearson to prepare an ordinance providing for a "No Wake" zone from
the confluence of the Mississippi River to the County Road 7 bridge, stip-
ulating that there be no water skiing allowed along that area.
Pearson reviewed, for redrafting purposes, the commission's re-
quests to include in the ordinance that the Rum River within the limits of
the City of Anoka be designated as "Quiet Waters" from the Mississippi
River to the next city boundary. Other cities shall be allowed to post
their areas of the river as they go. Two cities with a common boundary
will have to work together to reach an agreement. The "No Skiing" re-
striction shall also be included.
Upon voice vote on the motion, all voted yes. Motion carried.
The redrafted ordinance will be sent to Mr. Christensen and /or proper
county officials for their review prior to proceeding to the cities.
NEW BUSINESS
P arking Lot Sizes and Standards. Said information
will then be sent out with the agenda packets for review prior to the
meetings, or written material will be made available to the board at the
time of the meeting should mailing time become a factor.
ADJOURNMENT
Both Chairman Schrantz and Mr. Weaver had to leave, thereby elimina-
ting a quorum.
