LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />August 20, 1992 <br />Page 6 <br />constructed in accordance to standards of Class A and B <br />waters. <br />Motion was made by Jankowski, seconded by Weaver, to INDICATE <br />TO THE DNR LRRWMO APPROVAL OF DNR APPLICATION #93 -6025. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried. <br />Anoka Dam Proiect <br />Schultz presented the proposed plans for the replacement of <br />the retaining wall on the east bank of the Rum River between <br />the Main Street bridge and the Anoka Dam, noting this work is <br />necessary due to structural failure. The slope of the <br />proposed rip rap was discussed. Schrantz cautioned against <br />erosion occurring under the rip rap. <br />Weaver explained that the City of Anoka's first preference <br />was to replace the retaining wall, but the cost was <br />prohibitive. Schultz added that the tiebacks on the existing <br />pilings are all eroding away. The existing sheet pilings <br />will be cut off below the rip rap. <br />Schrantz suggested this board could approve this project <br />subject to positive comments from the LRRWMO Consulting <br />Engineer. <br />Motion was made by Ottensman, seconded by Jankowski, to <br />APPROVE THE ANOKA DAM PROJECT AS PROPOSED, SUBJECT TO POSI- <br />TIVE COMMENTS RECEIVED FROM THE LRRWMO CONSULTING ENGINEER. <br />Schultz queried whether the LRRWMO would authorize the <br />secretary to make that immediate comment to the DNR when the <br />DNR permit is received. Schrantz stated if there becomes a <br />big problem, the City of Anoka may contact the other board <br />members to request a special meeting to consider the permit <br />application further. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Rosella Sonsteby Wetland Issue <br />Schrantz updated the board on the Rosella Sonsteby wetland <br />mitigation issue involving lots one, two, and three on <br />Woodbine Street in Andover. He reported the Technical Review <br />Committee, consisting of the Board of Water and Soil <br />Resources (BWSR) representative Bruce Sandstrom, Anoka County <br />Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) representative <br />
