Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br />7.08: Consider Contract Options for East Meandering Commons Park <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed the staff report <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to approve a contract incentive <br />in the amount of $10,000 for timely completion of the grant eligible item of the project, and <br />providing a contract contingent so the Public Works Director can approve change orders up to <br />$15,000 without Council authorization. <br />Motion carried. Absent: Councilmember Jeffrey. <br />7.09: Authorize Contract for Lease Space Remodel in the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson reviewed the staff report and noted the low bid was from <br />Mi1Con, Ina <br />Kelly Naylor, BKV Group, noted there had been a good range of bids. She stated her firm has <br />not had personal experience with MilCon; but they had researched the company and had not <br />received any negative responses. She stated they felt comfortable that Mi1Con would be able to <br />meet the requirements of the project. <br />Councilmember Elvig stated he was surprised at the bid amounts for the mid-sized conference <br />room build-out, but considering the bids were so tight, apparently it was a reasonable estimate. <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson stated with the mid-size conference room, space under the <br />stairwell would also be utilized for a small kitchenette, which added costs, but would make the <br />room more accessible. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to adopt Resolution 10-03-074 <br />Authorizing a Contract with Mi1Con, Inc. for a Remodel of Lease space and Mid-Size <br />Conference Room Build-Out in the Ramsey Municipal Center and to establish budget for items <br />(conference room furnishings, signage, and entry mat replacement) outside of the bid scope, <br />subject to City Attorney and staff review. <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Elvig noted some of the floor mats appeared to be in good <br />shape and asked if the ones that did not need to be replaced could be left. Deputy City <br />Administrator Nelson stated one of the issues was that the rugs shed and increased maintenance <br />for the maintenance staff. She believed the floor mats should all be replaced.
