ORDINANCE #09 - XXX <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING AND <br />PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.01.05 (TERM) AND 7.20 (BUSINESS <br />REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE) OF THE CITY CODE. <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. REPEAL <br />7.01.05 Term. The license or permit term shall be January 1 to December 31 of each <br />year, unless otherwise provided in this Code. <br />Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate), shall be repealed. <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br />Section 7.01.05 (Term) shall be replaced with the following text: <br />7.01.05 Term. The license or permit term shall be July 1 to June 30 of the following <br />year, unless otherwise provided in this Code. <br />Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate) shall be replaced with the following text: <br />7.20 Business License <br />7.20.01 General Provisions <br />Subdivision 1. Purpose. The City Council finds that to better protect its <br />residents and working community by providing emergency services, it is necessary to annually <br />have certain data pertaining to each building from which a business is conducted. The purpose <br />of this Section is to establish a process for the City to obtain and maintain current information on <br />all businesses located in the City. The obtained information will allow the City to be informed as <br />to current occupancy and occupancy changes within buildings, permit the City to update and <br />review records regarding emergency contact lists, fire preplan, inspection, and hazardous <br />materials. The information will permit the City to verify that any business intending to operate <br />within the City shall comply with the Minnesota State Building and Fire Codes, and local City <br />Code requirements. The City Police Department will be notified of any hazards or security <br />issues that may affect the community's health, safety and welfare. <br />Subd.2. Definitions <br />
