Motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to deny the adoption of the
Resolution affirming the designation as "Pazk" in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update.
Further discussion: Councilmember Look requested staff write a letter to the Metropolitan
Council expressing the City's disappointment in the process the Metropolitan Council had
followed. Councilmember McGlone did not believe the property was disadvantaged. Associate
Planner Gladhill noted with this motion the City would not have a valid 2030 Comprehensive
Plan. Councilmember Look stated this had not been brought up by the City, but by the
Metropolitan Council and if the City did not have an approved Comprehensive Plan, it was due
to the Metropolitan Council's action. Terry Southerland, niece of Joyce Reidhead, owner of the
property, summarized the background of the property owned by her aunt. She stated this was a
bid deal and the family opposed the change of the map to show future pazk designation.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Look, Wise, Dehen, Elvig,
Jeffrey, and McGlone. Voting No: None.
7.03: Request for Conditional Use Permit to Exceed the Total Amount of Accessory
Structure Square Footage at 8700 1715 Avenue NW: Case of Rob Schiller
Management Intern Hendricks reviewed the staff report.
Councilmember Dehen stated he was glad there was no outside storage on this property. He
asked how many sheds could be put on a property.
Planning Manager Miller responded it depended on the size of the property.
Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adopt Resolution
#10-04-085 adopting Findings of Fact #0865 relating to the Applicant's request for a conditional
use pennit to' exceed the total amount of accessory structure square footage and to adopt
Resolution #10-O1-086 granting approval of the Conditional Use Permit to exceed the total
amount of accessory structure square footage, based on the findings of fact, declaring terms of
the same.
Further discussion: Councilmember Look asked how staff would control the removal of the
accessory structure and that the play structure be brought up to Code. Management Intern
Hendricks responded $2,000 would be required to be placed into escrow by the property owner
to ensure compliance.
Motion carried.
