Case # 1 <br /> <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br /> By: Public Works Staff <br /> <br />Consider Extension of CR I 16 Median East of TH 47 <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Since the construction of the access to the River's Bend Plaza from C.R. #116 it has been an area <br />for a high level of accidents. The Anoka County Highway Department has prepared a report that <br />deals with the high accident of this location and has requested that the City of Ramsey rescind its <br />previous request not to extend the median along this access point. Property and business owners <br />were present to oppose the extension of the median and much discussion occurred as to an <br />alternative access to the River's Bend Plaza if the County extended the median. <br /> <br />A motion was made to extend the C.R. #116 median and that a left turn along T.H. #47 be <br />constructed to Blue Velvet Lane and that a right turn lane in the gas station along C.R. #I 16 be <br />constructed and a right-in, right-out access into the River's Bend Plaza on the south access. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #2 Update of County Road 116 Corridor Study <br />Background: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Staff provided the Committee with sections of the draft plan of the Corridor Study for C.R. #116' <br />specifically, the access management proposal and explained that it would be approPriate to <br />solicit public input. In order to do this the Original agreement with SRF Inc. would have to be' <br />revised to meet the expanding scope of services. <br /> <br />A motion was made to recommend that City Council enter into an agreement With SRF Inc., to <br />provide a public involvement program for the C.R. #116 corridor study at a cost not to exceed <br />$3,150. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Case #3: Update on Feasibility Study for the Improvement of Unpaved Streets <br />Background: <br /> <br />Last fall Staff was directed to prepare a feasibility study addressing how gavel and dirt streets <br />might be upgraded.
