C. T.H. 47 Service Road
£.risting Conditions

This segment of unpaved roadway consists of 750' feet south of 160-th Lane in the Hall Anderson
Acres subdivision and terminates in a 35-foot radius cul-de-sac. The existing sand surface is 21
wide and contained within a 45 foot right of way. The road services three single-family
residences located on the west side of the roadway and is adjacent to T.H.. 47 on: its east
boundary.

At the present time, there is a well-developed roadside ditch on the west side of the ~'oad. The
east side also contains-an adequate ditchline along, however, it disz~ppears and it s .blocked in
some locations. There is also a separate, well-defined highway ditch for the west side' of T.H. 47.
There is a generous ~ade fi-om north to south toward County Ditch 3, which lies south of the cul-
de-sac terminus of this roadway.

Proposed Improvements - Alternative A - Gravel Surface

Alternate A would upgrade this unpaved road by better defining the ditch on the east side of the
road., perhaps by c ormecting the unpaved road ditch to the Highway 47 ditch at one or more
locations. A four-inch Class 5 surface with a width of 24 feet would be provided consistent with
the minimum standards illustrated in Figure A. A . foot radius cul-de-sac would also
receive four inches of Class 5. Topsoil salvage fi-om the existing east ditch area would be used to
restore th.e disturbed area between the road and the higjaway. The disturbed areas would be
reseeded with a highway seed mix and prov/.ded with adequate erosion control until turf is
established.

Following construction and application o f c atcium c hlodde ford ustc ontrol would b e applied
annually in the spring or early summer. The road would be regraded approximately montlTly,
between April and October. After five years tow inched' of Class 5 would be added to the
roadway.

Proposed Improvements - Alternative B - Paved Surface

Similar improvements to those described in Alternative A above would be made to improve
drainage on the east side of the roadway. The roadway would be surfaced with two inches of
bituminous wear course as illustrated in Figure B. Turf restoration and. erosion control would be
provided, as described' in Alternative A abo~e. Following construction, a sealcoating would be
applied after five years.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
