F. 173ra Avenue <br /> <br />Existing Conditions <br /> <br />This segment of unpaved roadway consist of a 20-foot sand surface for a distance of 1600 feet <br />west o f C SAH 5, just south o f C R 6 3. This roadway exists within 66-foo~ right-of-way and <br />services two farmsteads and another single family residence whose driveway is less than 200 feet <br />off of CSAH 5. The roadway is adequately elevated above farmland which exists on both sides <br />of the roadway, except for the westernmost 100 to 200 feet. The roadway does not end'in a cul- <br />de-sac, but rather turns southward extending into a private driveway: Tlxere appears to be little <br />opportunity to construct a cul-de-sac at the terminus since the adjacent side stope.s r/se 3 to 4 feet <br />above the elevation of_the existing road. <br /> <br />Proposed improvement - Alternative A - Gravel Surface <br /> <br />The major length of this roadway would only receive four inches of~avel to the existing surface. <br />On the westernmost 150 feet ditches would be established conforming to the cross section <br />illustrated in Figure A. <br /> <br />Following construction, an application of calcium chloride for dust control would be applied <br />annually in spring or summer. The road would be regraded approximately monthly betWeen <br />April and October. AtSer five years 2.inches of Class 5 would be added to the surface. <br /> <br />Proposed Improvements - Alternative A - Paved Surface <br /> <br />Similar improvements to those described in Alternative A above would be made to improve <br />drainage on the far west end of the roadway. The roadway would be surfaced with two inches of <br />Class 5 as illustrated in Figure B..Following construction, a seal coating would be applied after 5 <br />Years. <br /> <br />G. 157th Avenue <br /> <br />This segment of unpaved road consists of a half-mile section of 157th Avenue between Variohte <br />Street and CR 83. At the present time the surface varies between a 21 and 24 foot gravel surface <br />With a 66-foot right-of-way. The roadway services 20 single family lots which all take access <br />from 157th Lane. There are no undeveloped lots. <br /> <br />The. street grade is extremely flat and there has bee a history of standing water, ParticUlarly on the <br />east end of the roadways, there are no roadside ditches or driveway culverts. <br /> <br /> <br />
