Absent: Commissioners Brauer, Johnson and Nixt. <br /> <br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />The following Council minutes were noted: <br /> <br />1) City Council regular meeting minutes dated January 14, 2003 <br />2) City Council regular meeting minutes dated January 28, 2003 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS/COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Request-for Site Plan Review of Panther Precision; Case of Thomas Olson <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated that the City received an application for site plan review from <br />Thomas Olson of Panther Precision. Panther Precision is currently operating in Fridley and <br />~vould like to relocate their business to Ramsey in the City's newest industrial park, Sunfish Lake <br />Business Park. The subject property is zoned Industrial and the site plan is proposing to <br />construct a 32,805 square foot office and manufacturing facility. The proposed activities are <br />pem~itted uses xvithin the Industrial District. The site plan complies with the front yard, rear <br />yin'd, and side yard setbacks and lot coverage established in the Industrial District. The exterior <br />building materials for the facility will be pre-cast concrete panel, rockface concrete block, and a <br />pre-finished metal accent cap. City sewer and water services will serve the facility. The <br />development of this property will require construction of a lift station within the Sunfish Lake <br />Business Park. The construction and timing of when the lift station becomes operational will <br />need to be a coordinated effort between the developer and the City. Associate Planner Wald <br />advised that Staff recommends approval of the site plan contingent upon compliance with City <br />Staff review letter dated February 28, 2003. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Reeve invited the applicant to make comment. <br /> <br />Jim Strecker, King Horn Construction, the architect for Panther Precision thanked staff for their <br />efforts and noted he was present to address questions from the Commission. <br /> <br />Hearing no comments from the Commission, Vice ChairperSon Reeve asked for a motion. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van-Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Watson, to recommend that <br />City Council approve the proposed site plan for Panther Precision upon compliance with City <br />Staff review letter dated February 28, 2003. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chairperson Reeve, Commissioners Van Scoy, Watson, and <br />Shepherd. Voting No: None.
