2~Page
Dolphin Property
Areas excavated beyond the outer limits of the storm water retention pond (Pond) footprint will be
backfilled by placing and compacting materials in approximate one to two-foot lifts. A
compactable material with high clay content will be used for the top one foot of backfill to create a
more solid surface with limited permeability. Amore granular material, with higher sand content
and permeability, will be used to backfill below a depth of one foot. Vegetated cover will be
established as needed at the end of the backfilling program. Organic rich soil and grass seed. will
be used to repair any mowed grassy areas located outside the excavation limits that may be
damaged by the use of heavy equipment.
The pond footprint will be restored to riear pre-existing conditions to provide storm water control
as originally intended. Pond base materials will be replaced using silty soils with sufficient.
organics, similar to the materials removed, tosupport re-establishment of cattails and_other water-
loving plant species. The materials will be placed and graded with moderate compactioh. The
three storm water inlets will be re-constructed to allow storm water runoff to enter as previously
established.
BNSF and AECOM look forward to discussing the IUP application at the May 6, 2010, planning
commission meeting. AECOM and BNSF appreciate your assistance with this project.
