CASE #~, ~ ~ (o <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br />By: Public Works Staff <br />Background: <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday April 20, 2010 and discussed the following. six <br />cases: <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion to approve the agenda as submitted. <br />Case #1: Consider City Involvement in Maintenance St. Francis Blvd. Service Road <br />Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to look at the option of the City taking a more active role in the <br />maintenance of the St. Francis Blvd. service road. The local business owriers/managers were <br />contacted and invited to this meeting, to gauge if there is sufficient interest in moving forward <br />with this proposal. <br />It was the Committee's consensus to have the EDA look at possibly relocating the WCCO tower <br />and discuss utilizing TIF or MSA funds, and to include a possible assessment to the property <br />owner to rebuild the roadway contingent upon receiving roadway and easement from the <br />property owners at no cost. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council ask the EDA to look at the WCCO tower being <br />moved, and discuss utilizing TIF or MSA funds, and to include possible assessment to the <br />property owners to rebuild the roadway contingent upon receiving roadway and easement from <br />property owners at no cost. <br />Action: <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br />Case #2: Consider Formal Dedication for the Ramsey Lion's Contribution for Central <br />Park's Pavilion <br />Background: <br />In 2006, City Council authorized the construction of the replacement of the concession stand and <br />shelter at Central Park with a significantly larger, modern structure. The approximately <br />$425,000 project was initiated by a $367,000 contribution from the Ramsey Lions. <br />
