The purpose of this case is to acknowledge the Ramsey Lions for their role in bringing the pavilion and concession stand to Central Park by a formal dedication of this building. Staff proposed a bronze plaque to be permanently affixed to this building so that the public may be fully aware of the Lion's contributions to the community. In addition, it was discussed that this could occur at the Park and Recreation Commissions' regular meeting, scheduled to be held Thursday, June 10~h, 2010 at 6:30 pm at Central Park, and that this same evening may also serve as the annual joint meeting with City Council. Motion to recommend a joint meeting with the Park and Recreation Commission on June 10`h 2010 for the purpose of a formal dedication, and approval of up to $500 from the Lawful Gambling Fund for the funding for the plaque. Action: Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. Case #3: Summary for 2009 - 2010 Snow Removal Season Background: Street Supervisor summarized the snow removal season. Staff was asked to bring back the mailbox replacement policy for discussion at a future meeting. The Commission discussed residents removing snow from their own sidewalks as a cost savings measure for the City. Action: No decision was made. Information only. Case #4: Update on 1615 Avenue & Armstrong Blvd Pedestrian Crossing Background: At the Apri121, 2009 Public Works Committee meeting staff was directed that a letter be drafted to Anoka County Highway Department requesting safety improvements be considered. Staff sent the letter to the Anoka County Engineer on May 14, 2009. No response has been received by staff at the time of this writing. Anoka County Highway department has been contacted and a response is anticipated to be available at the time of the meeting. The Committee asked they be kept up to date with this in the weekly newsletter. Action: No action taken.
