POLICY BOARD BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Appointment of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Motion by Board Member Hassett and seconded by Board Member Freeburg to appoint Michael <br />Max as Chairperson of the Environmental Policy Board. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Board Members Riley-Daniels, Freeburg, Hassett, Enstrom and <br />Bentz. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Stodola. Abstaining: Chairperson Max. <br />Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Riley-Daniels to appoint <br />Trent Hassett as the Vice Chairperson of the Environmental Policy Boazd. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Max, Board Members Riley-Daniels, Freeburg, <br />Enstrom and Bentz. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Stodola. Abstaining: Board <br />Member Hassett. <br />Board Member Enstrom suggested that the appointment of officers should simply coincide with <br />city policy regarding terms for Boazd/Commission members. <br />The Board unanimously agreed. <br />Case #2: Invasive Species Education/Web Page <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report and previewed the conceptual <br />layout of the invasive species webpage for the Boazd. <br />Board Member Hassett inquired if there could be drop down menus under each of the main <br />categories (trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, aquatic plants) listing each species so that if <br />someone knew what they were looking for they would not need to scroll through all the plants <br />they could just click on that species and jump to it. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that the new web design will include a search <br />function and that could be used if a person knew what it was they were looking for. He also <br />stated that he did not think it would be a problem to include the drop down menus. <br />Board Member Enstrom stated that reed canazy grass is listed as an aquatic plant but that it can <br />be found in upland areas as well. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he was trying to avoid listing the same species <br />in multiple locations and so he chose to list it as an aquatic because that is typically how it is <br />viewed and thought o£ <br />Environmental Policy Board /April 5, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
