He suggested there be concurrent meeting atten- <br />dance with the board's current engineer; that any current <br />permits going on follow through with the current engineer; <br />but that anything that comes in near the start of the con- <br />tract would be with the new engineering firm. Mr. Lobermeier <br />warned there may be extxa costs involved with his procedure. <br />He stated he would like to coma in and see where the LRRWMO's <br />costs have been and try to streamline it. <br />Schrantz explained the hoard's involvement in project review, <br />even through the member city's quarterly reports. Mr. <br />Lobermeier stated there may be redundancy in the current <br />review process. However, flexibility is important. Schrantz <br />stated the LRRWMO has taken the position that it is still <br />responsible no matter if the cities are handling a project; <br />as advised by LRRWMO legal counsel. <br />Schrantz felt the LRRWMO and Consulting Engineer should enter <br />into an agreed upon contract. Mr. Lobermeier suggested there <br />might be different ways to establish the contract, suggesting <br />separate contracts for separate projects. The focus of SEH <br />would be tb communicate as west it can with the LRRWMO. <br />xn summary, the hoard expressed its appreciation to Mr. <br />Lobermeier for his input; and informed him the board will He <br />making its final decision at its regular meeting scheduled <br />for February I$, 1993. <br />Sunda Engineerin4 <br />Representatives for Sunda Engineering attending the interview <br />were Gerald M. Sonde, PE, and Brian H. Mundstock, Civil <br />Engineer. Mr. Sunda explained his Bloomington firm consisted <br />of a total of six or seven employees, four of them engineers, <br />and two of those registered engineers. A brief overview of <br />the firm's experience was presented, as explained in the <br />written proposal previously submitted. Mr. Sunda indicated <br />half of their wank is for BFS. Mr. Mundatcck reportedly <br />works primarily for architects and communities on development <br />projects. Mr. Sunda admitted Sunda Engineering has never <br />worked for watersheds; they usually presented projects to the <br />watersheds. He stated this watershed is quite a way~x removed <br />from the work they do on the south side of the metro area. <br />However, he stated it would be fun to try it. They have <br />watched hew the different districts work. Mr. Sunda stated <br />there is not a whole lot of money in this kind of work, but <br />felt it would be a good experience. <br />
