LRRWMO Meeting Minutes January 21, 1993 Page 2 Weaver noted the $4,408.29 balance in the engineering portion of the budget and queried whether that should be a negative figure. Knutson explained normally it would be; however, that is not the balance of the budgeted items. Included in this figure are reimburseable expenses such as those from city projects. Knutson reported the LRRWMO received approximately $4,000 in permits for 1992. That revenue figure is budgeted separately; however, Knutson added, perhaps the budget figure should be changed to reflect these revenues. Knutson indicated engineering has only actually spent approximately $2,000. He recommended the board raise its engineering budget the $4,000 in order to have it make sense. We have not been budgeting for permits in this portion of the report. (Ottensman arrived 8:40 a.m.) Knutson went on to review the fiscal year 1993 activity spread sheet which reflects all budgetary activity through December 31, 1992. This report reflects all revenues taken in and is a summary of the LRRWMO checking account, confirm- ing the total current balance of $17,047.94. The Summary of Permit Fee Applications report was presented,- - indicating the various project account balances as of January 21, 1993, with a total balance of $1,577.00. Knutson recom- __ mended the LRRWMO members review their respective city... project permits and make a recommendation to the .board on - which should be closed out. Schultz queried whether there would be any additional 1992 bills from Barr Engineering which should be charged against any of these permit fees. Knutson stated that is always an unknown; it is .possible _. there could be bills from Barr Engineering relating to any one of these projects. He suggested each city's representative to the LRRWMO review these projects and determine whether the projects are complete and if no further costs are expected prior 'to closing out that permit account and refunding the balance of the project fee. Schrantz concurred, directing that each city representative present his recommendation for project closure in writing, suggesting such closure, or recommendation thereof, be submitted on the project permit to provide for more accurate record keeping practices. Motion was made by Jankowski, seconded by Weaver, to APPROVE THE TREASURER'S REPORT AS PRESENTED. 4 ayes - 0 nayes. Motion carried.
