,.,
LRRWMO Meeting Minutes
May 18, 1995
Page 10
Since cost sharing is an issue under discussion with the LRRWMO, Lobermeier stated he
will provide language in the Fridley/SLP JPA. Consensus was reached that the Plan update
will identify several capital improvement projects.
On water quality, Lobermeier noted the current Plan indicates it is to "maintain or improve"
the water quality. He suggested, since all water bodies have different functions, that quality
be determined based on its function.
Schultz advised he would not want to get too specific regarding function. Lobermeier
suggested the language indicate the LRRWMO wants to identify function in determining the
standard for water quality. Schultz pointed out this is being done now before water
discharges into a river or lake. He questioned the need to record how/why ponds have come
into existence rather than classifying them as a water body.
Consensus was reached that all storm water ponds will be included on the storm sewer base
map and to identify them as per their intended function. Consensus was also reached to
leave groundwater regulations with Anoka County who have just completed a draft
Groundwater Protection Assessment.
Lobermeier advised BWSR is behind schedule in reviewing Plans and the LRRWMO may
want their attorney to review the Statute relative to timing of BWSR's review and whether
the Plan is approved by default if the BWSR review is not completed within a certain
number of days.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Haas, seconded by Ferguson, to adjourn the meeting. Vote: 4 ayes,
0 nays. Motion carved.
Time of adjournment: 11:43 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Carla Wirth
Administrative Secretary
