LRRWMO Meeting Minutes . <br />May 16, 1996 <br />Page 6 <br />Jankowski suggested the LRRWMO discuss the implication that Anoka County may request funding <br />towazds their efforts. <br />Weaver reiterated this is significant enough that each member Council should consider it and perhaps <br />a joint meeting be held. Jankowski suggested that County representatives also attend. <br />Weaver noted that neglect never serves you well and if Anoka County learns there is concern, they <br />tray hold off. He indicated the member City's have historically done an excellent job of protecting <br />its water supply. <br />Schultz advised that the City of Anoka also received this letter and questionnaire, and Anoka staff <br />members have been attending the County's meeting. <br />Haas stated he attended the groundwater protection meetings and has the impression the County is <br />not. interested in "stepping on anybody's toes". Weaver suggested Anoka County be advised of the <br />City's desire to control their own water supply. <br />Schultz noted the issue is protection of groundwater. Weaver suggested a response be sent from the • <br />LRRWMO directly stating to Hutchinson that its member cities would appreciate the opportunity to <br />meet and heaz a presentation from Anoka County on these issues. <br />Motion by Weaver, seconded by Haas, to respond to Anoka County's request for responses <br />they would like the opportunity to schedule a joint meeting with member cities to learn more <br />about their proposal to handle groundwater and discuss concerns of the cities. Vote: 3 ayes, <br />0 nays.
