• LRRWMO Meeting Minutes <br />May 16, 1996 <br />Page 5 <br />Knutson stated he did talk with Mazk Lobermeier, SEH, regarding the LRRWMO's concern. <br />Jankowski stated he would not have a problem with paying the SEH request for payment since he <br />believes they will complete the Plan update. He stated he also spoke with Lobermeier who indicated <br />no problem with waiting for the money. <br />Weaver stated he is not uncomfortable with holding a 10% retainage since the LRRWMO received <br />a request to exceed their bid amount. <br />REVIEW PLAN UPDATE <br />Jankowski asked if members preferred to discuss the Plan Update now or schedule a special meeting. <br />Due to the receipt ofa new executive summary and one member's absence, Weaver suggested further <br />discussion be tabled. <br />• Consensus was reached to schedule a special meeting on May 30, 1996 at 8:45 a.m. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />Review Correspondence in Chair's Folder <br />Jankowski reviewed the correspondence and notices contained in the Chair's Folder. <br />Anoka Count~Groundwater Protection Plan <br />Jankowski explained Anoka County's efforts to implement the Groundwater Protection Plan and <br />make it useful, and that they will be holding a meeting on June 5th. Schultz questioned the purpose <br />of the wellhead protection plan and stated his support for it being a County operation. A discussion <br />ensured regarding the need for wellhead protection and jurisdictional intent of the Metropolitan <br />Council in this azea Weaver concurred with the need for a better understanding of the consequences <br />of having too many wells within the same aquifer. <br />Weaver suggested the questionnaire be considered by member City Council prior to action by the <br />LRRWMO. He also commented on the need to involve all member Cities in this decision. He noted <br />Anoka is providing water to a large segment of Ramsey and questioned what Ramsey's reaction <br />would be if Anoka County had the authority to dictate that Ramsey could not install their own well <br />. and be required to buy water from Anoka. <br />Jankowski stated there aze more opportunities for communities to work together to reduce costs than <br />the reverse. Weaver concurred and suggested the example of Anoka and Ramsey working together <br />on the water supply be cited to Anoka County. <br />
