Schools, Religious and Community Facilities
Those persons being displaced will be referred to comparable
replacement locations (see inventory of replacement dwellings included
in this plan) that have a close proximity to the necessary social
institutions and commercial shopping areas.
Schools
Relocation resources are located in Minnesota's second largest
school district. The district encompasses 172 square miles and is
known as School District 11. The school district operates the largest
suburban community school program in the state. Twenty elementary
schools and four junior high schools are sites for this large program.
All students in the area attend Anoka Senior High School which has an
enrollment of about 2,700 students. It is located on a 100 acre
campus.
Churches
There are over twenty five churches located throughout the area.
Most denominations are represented.
Civic Organizations and Clubs
Over fifty five civic organizations and clubs are located
throughout the community area. Also, many cultural resources such as
libraries, historical society, concert associations, and theatrical
groups are located throughout the community. Medical clinics and
hospitals are amended to meet the needs of the area residents.
Commercial Shopping Area and Development
The communities employ tax increment financing and industrial
development bond financing to promote commercial and industrial
growth. There are currently several areas under development. There are
shopping malls, strip commercials along the main artery, supermarkets
and convenience stores provide a wide choice of shopping facilities.
The above synopsis of social amenities are available throughout
the area of comparable relocation resources. All services are
available to persons without regard to race, color, religion or
national origin and will meet the needs of the residential displacees.
C-4
IERAL - STATE RELOCATION CONSULTING SERVICE 299 No. Snelling Ave. St. Paul.
