1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Non -Residential Displacees <br />While there are no specific standards which apply to the <br />relocation of non-residential site occupants, to the relocation staff <br />will provide every possible assistance to those firms, owners of <br />rental property and organizations to be displaced so they can <br />successfully accomplish their relocation plans with a minimum of <br />difficulty and interruption. The consultant will attempt to avoid <br />temporary relocation for any firm to be moved. However, in the event <br />of hardship or in emergency situations, the consultant will, with <br />approval of the sponsor, relocate businessess temporarily within the <br />the project area if facilities are available. The relocation <br />consultant has wide experience in dealing with the problem of the <br />business displacees. As a result of his varied contacts, he is <br />particularly well qualified to assist the business man in his - <br />relocation efforts. He is in communication with local realtors and <br />property managers who are cognizant of commercial vacancies; he also <br />maintains liason with the Small Business Administration on behalf of <br />those displaced business that may wish to apply for SBA loans or <br />technical assistance. Development of commercial/retail space is <br />presently under way in various pockets of the community which offers a <br />wide selection of suitable relocation resources to the displacee. <br />Characteristics of the Business Displacees <br />The non-residential site occupants consist of a convenience <br />store/gas station, a restaurant, building contractors, dry -wall <br />construction business and absentee land lords. The operators of these <br />businesses are white, and range in age from 30 to late 70's, one is a <br />corporate entity. The majority want to relocate within the <br />approximate area. The consultant would make every effort to assist <br />them in accomplishing this effort. <br />Sampling of Displacees Characteristics - Residential <br />Map #14 A retired elderly couple occupying a home they built 50 <br />years ago. Single family, attached double car garage, 2 <br />bedroom, 1 bath. This family undecided, may want to move <br />out of state to a similar size development. <br />Map #16 A split level ten room dwelling, 2 baths, 5 bedrooms. The <br />lower level is utilized primarily by one of the three member <br />family occupying this residential structure. There is a <br />detached two car plus garage. Family consists of adults. <br />One of the occupants may relocate seperately. All want to <br />relocate closer to the metropolitan area where two of them <br />are employed, the other occupant is retired.
