(2331 M) <br />percentage point asphalt content tolerance shall be <br />applied to the amount designated by the Engineer. <br />(5) In the event the Contractor elects to produce <br />recycled bituminous mixture(s) in accordance with <br />Specification 2332, the requirements of this 2332 <br />Modified Specification and the following shall apply: <br />a) Mix design requirements relative to Marshall <br />Stability, Air Voids and Cold Water Abrasion <br />loss shall be in accordance with Item (2) of <br />this specification (Trial Mix Tests). <br />b) The composite of non-asphaltic aggregate <br />Material(s) (virgin, salvaged aggregate(s) <br />or/and crushed concrete) shall meet the <br />gradation and quality requirements of Section <br />2331.2A of this specification. <br />c) if the final recycled mixture consists of less <br />than 20 percent salvaged asphaltic material by <br />tota weight of composite aggregate materials), <br />the requirements for sampling and mixture <br />extraction as described in the last 2 paragraphs <br />of 2332.3 (Production Requirements) shall be <br />deleted. (Extraction testing will not be <br />pe~ormed for the determination of bituminous <br />material quantities for payment.) The provisions <br />of 2332.4 (Measurement and Payment) shall apply <br />except that 2332.4 (1) and (2) shall be deleted. ' <br />Payment will be made for the accepted quantities <br />of bituminous mixture and only the new <br />bituminous material incorporated into the <br />mixture in accordance with 2332.4 and 2331.5. <br />The percent of new asphalt cement added to the <br />recycled bituminous mixture shall not exceed the <br />maximum limits as described in Item (4) above. <br />d) If the final recycled mixture contains 20 <br />percent or greater salvaged asphaltic material <br />by total weight of composite aggregate <br />materials), the requirements for sampling and <br />mixture extraction as described in the last two <br />paragraphs of 2332.3 (Production Requirements <br />and the provisions of 2332.4 (Measurement and <br />Payment) shall apply. <br />(6) The requirements for mixture proporations shall be in <br />accordance with 2332.3E; except that, the Job-Mix <br />Formula J.M.F.) percentages and permissible working <br />range will be established based on the composite <br />aggregate gradation of the approved trial mix sample.` <br />-5- <br />
