Reflectorized Pavement Marking Tape........3353 <br />2361.3 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br />Construction requirements shall be the same as those <br />specified in 2331.3 (Plant Mixed Bituminous Pavement), except as <br />modified or supplemented by the following: <br />B. Restrictions <br />Restrictions shall be made the same as those <br />specified in 2331.38, except as modified by the following: <br />(1) Delete paragraph 4 <br />(2) No bituminous mixture shall be placed after September <br />1st in that portion of the State north of an <br />east-west line between Browns valley and Holyoke, nor <br />after September 15th south of that line. <br />E. Mixture Proportions <br />E1. Asphalt Cement <br />The percentage of asphalt cement, by weight, in the <br />mixture shall be within plus or minus 0.3 percent of the amount <br />designated by the Engineer. The spot check method, as described in <br />the Departments' Bituminous Manual, shall be used to monitor and <br />control the amount of asphalt incorporated into the mixture during <br />bituminous mix production. <br />E2. Job-Mix Formula <br />Delete 2331.3E2 and in lieu thereof use the following: <br />(1) At least 15 days prior to the start of bituminous <br />mixture production, the Contractor shall submit to <br />the Department's Bituminous Engineer (or his <br />designee) representative aggregate samples of each of <br />the respective materia s that are proposed to be used <br />in the mixture production. The submittal shall <br />consist of 100 pounds of each of the types of <br />aggregate to be incorporated into the proposed blend. <br />The aggregate samples shall be obtained from <br />aggregate production. At the time of the <br />aggregate(s) submittal, the Contractor shall submit <br />stockpile gradations for each of the different types <br />of aggregate intended for use. The Contractor shall <br />also indicate the proposed proportions of the <br />aggregate materials to be incorporated into the <br />mixture. <br />-3- <br />
