Therefore, the necessary approach <br />surface clearances over both CSAH #57 and CR #56 cannot be provided <br />on the existing crosswind runway alignment unless a substandard <br />and non - fundable runway length is utilized. <br />The alternatives available, in order to retain the existing runway <br />alignments, are to relocate or abandon the railroad tracks and /or <br />CSAH #57 in the case of the primary runway and to relocate or abandon <br />CSAH #57 and /or CR #56 to facilitate the crosswind runway. None of <br />these alternatives appear to be economically feasible or prudent at <br />this time. <br />Obstructions which would have to be removed presently exist within <br />the Clear Zone areas of both proposed runways as shown on Exhibits <br />B and C. In the south Clear Zone area of primary runway 16 -34, <br />overhead power lines and poles exist along both sides of the railroad <br />tracks and those lines must be buried or rerouted. In addition, <br />McGregor's Restaurant, Deliel's Restaurant, and a single family <br />residence adjacent to Deliel's are all located between U. S. #10, <br />#52, and #169 and the railroad, are within the Clear Zone area, <br />and would have to be vacated and removed. Several vacant buildings <br />also exist south of U. S. #10, #52, and #169, but within the Clear <br />Zone that would have to be removed. The north Clear Zone area of <br />the runway 16 -34 encompasses a Tom Thumb grocery store, at least <br />six single family residences plus a barn and garages which would also <br />have to be vacated and removed.
