II
' alone attains a wind coverage of approximately 80 percent and the addition of
' Crosswind Runway 9-27 provides a combined wind coverage of approximately 95.5
percent.
1
Primary Runway 16-34 is situated such that both approach zones fall largely
over floodway or open water areas, Lake Itasca to the south and Trott Brook -
' County Ditch 51 to the north. The primary surface area of Runway 16-34 lies
between two wooded areas and includes approximately 9.5 acres of trees which
' would have to be cleared. The general topography within the primary surface
area lies between elevations 890 to 900 except for the swale area, just north
' of the runway midpoint, which dips to elevation 870.
t The primary surface area for Crosswind Runway 9-27 has been located as far east
as possible to abut the embankment above the floodway area extending north from
Lake Itasca. As a result, much of the clear zone and safety zone areas for the
Runway 9-27 approach fall over floodway property. However, the west approach
clear zone and safety zone areas encompass predominantly farmland included in
the rural service area. The west end of the Runway 9-27 primary surface is
' located approximately 800 feet east of the north south township road along the
west edge of the General Mills property. Again, the primary surface topography
' is gently rolling terrain lying between elevations 890 to 900 and no wooded
_ areas fall within the primary surface area.
1
1
16
